Angel Awaken

Ruddy curls grew wild and free
Having only one direction
Her world had none
Here, she found her words
Here she would be set free
A world that spoke only to her
Alive was this world
Sharing all the unsightly secrets
Her world knew all the unknown
Meekness so misunderstood
Ignorance misinterpreted
What a spark they had blocked!
Dare she ever just ‘be’?
Her silence camouflaged the brilliance
Years of grief finally surfaced
Heartache her friend in hiding
Her passion set a path abroad
Nervous yet boldly brave
I cheer her triumph!
Returning homeward, forever
Forever the writer, she was destined to ‘be’
