Shades of light blue and pastels faded
Tattered by the disease which had eaten its way through their smiles
Once a soft warm memory now coldly corroded and ugly
Confusion adhered to her pain, but no explanation lay wanting
None was necessary
Her heart rampant with fury but crushed by pity
A tendered compassion recalled the faces and history
She consoled her heart, for not all was lost!
